Bree-Town is the first major city many players will see after getting past their original low level quests.  The book 1 epic quests are found here, at the famous Prancing Pony.  However, aside from the setting so familiar to readers of J.R.R. Tolkien, and the quests centered around the characters from his stories, there are many quests found here which relate to other parts of Bree-Land.

Bree-Town is full of adventures appropriate for adventurers in their high teens and low twenties in level.  Many have to do with the Barrow Downs, in general, and some have to do with the Great Barrow in specific, an instanced area which is full of horrible undead and similar monsters.  There are also some quests relating to the bandits found in the north of town, including one which leads to a long chain of events aimed at preventing an alliance between the southern bandits found in the region and a tribe of orcs in northern Bree-Land.

who are the champs

I love my jobs. Most of the time. The two older boys I take care of are awesome. The family is great to work with and when I come over I feel a part of the family and not just an employee. It's great. (I think it helps that they are pagan and so we understand each other better.)

The two younger boys I care for a becoming a handful. With school started I think anxiety has set in and so their manners have flown out the window. They tend to whine more and demand /everything/. I have put my foot down about it and with luck it will stop soon. They are spoiled. But from what I see their parents (divorced) still expect them to not brag about the things they have and to talk to everyone with respect, the children are just kinda missing the point, with some more explaining they are slowly getting it, I think.

I have decided that I am not able to clean Autumn's as well and as quickly as she would like. It was causing me a lot of anxiety thinking about it and stressing over whether or not I could do it. Thankfully she understands and still wants me to do the ironing for her (which pays rather well and it's work I can do at home day or night). She also has some side jobs she'd like me to do for her, which is awesome. She's a great woman and I love going over to her home. She told me on the phone today that there are something special about me, almost made me cry. This woman hardly knows me, and yet she feels comfortable enough to tell me (practically a stranger) all sorts of things about her life and things that are going on right now with her. What view conversations we've had consist of her saying, "Why am I telling you this? I don't eve know you." She's in her 60s and loved the 80s. :P She's an eclectic artist and loves birds.

ANYWAY. Glad to know I'll get some extra work through her, which will make up for the hours I'm losing from Mike now that Carson is going to school 3 days a week almost all day.

With that I've been hit with depression really hard. It's been rough the past week or so. Haven't had this big of a problem in years. Went so far as to turn my cell phone off Friday and Saturday. To add to my depression I didn't miss much either by turning my phone off. (Although I decided to not dwell on this, my phone hardly rings.) I've been very lucky to have Aaron be so understanding. I'm not sure what's worse though, having depression and not understanding what it is, or having it and knowing full well what it is but still unable to do much about it.

It has helped that I have finally been able to get ahold of Autumn and talk about my work with her. (I had called Tuesday afternoon asking her to call me, and then again on Wed, only then I left a more detailed message as to why I was calling. Finally called her today and she was home.)

I am trying to focus my manic-ness, because really that's what has been going on with me. It's been like a roller coaster ride, and I can't get off. :( So with my work days not starting until 2pm on Mondays and Fridays now, I intend to clean the bedroom so we can put the drawing table in there so I can start on my line of cards and sewing. I want to start making my own skirts and pants, and someday shirts. Very hippie casual. :P

Rose has printed out flyers and little 'post card' handouts for our store online. They look amazing and here real soon we'll be open for business. :D Just waiting on a few minor details of paperwork. I can't wait. Trying to come up with ideas of where to post our flyers. This store has been long in the making and I'm so excited to get it off the ground. :D

Yesterday was Aaron and I 1 year anniversary. Amazingly we haven't tried to kill each other yet. :P We took it easy, went out to dinner and then watched 3 movies while curled up in bed. Was nice. We still look at each other and can't believe it's been a year. I think we are both finally in a relationship where we are happy where we are at, at least with each other, and everything for the future involves each other. It's just assumed that we'll be together. I still wake up sometimes and wonder why he loves me and puts up with my shit, but I'm sure he does the same thing.

I am surviving. I've hit a rough patch, but some of that is the season, something in the air and my mind wandering too far.

Everyone was just as excited as us that we were able to get an interview. So of course, seeing as we have just this week left, we all went out to celebrate, so it was sort o****ood Luck get together.

 It was also my godmothers birthday the past week so we doubled up on the fun. 

We went out to the Saddle Ranch at the Universal City Walk. We actually have not been there since this time last year and we really enjoyed ourselves.

My godmother, and my cousins, as well as my best friends brother all came out. Something we have not done in such a long time. We just hung out and talked about anything and everything. We stood for a couple hours eating and then headed home for some rest.

Michael was really trying very hard to keep a serious face here. And it worked for all of  seconds, right after the flash he started laughing. He can't play mean too long.

I am glad Matt Hardy is the champ. It is a pretty sweet belt to have and it sets up a nice Hardy sweep. It seems as though something that WWE could plan. The "Gold Standard" should definetly be replaced. Although he is a former Golden Gophers from the University of Minnesota (I am from Minnesota) he needs to go. He is rediculous.

Shawn Michaels vs. Y2J
Shawn Michaels should have done more. There was not a whole lot of blood like last time. Y2Jerk certainly does not look like he is out an eye or an arm or whatever HBK meant to do. I think the jump was awesome!!! Only two sweet chin musics and some belt lashings...could have been more grusom.

 

As for now...back to the action!!!

FREAKIN SWEET!!!!! 

I don't know what to say.  That was one of the most disgusting football games I have ever watched.  The Bengals offense was absolutely pitiful.  They could not do anything.  I knew they were in big trouble when they could not produce even a field goal on the first two drives.  With that kind of field position, you have to come away with something.  Paul Daugherty pointed out the fact that the first six times Carson Palmer dropped back it was sack, sack, scramble, scramble, completion, interception.  At that rate, he will never make it through the season.

At times, I thought the defense was ok.  They gave up 17 points.  They scored one touchdown.  A 10 point difference is not that bad, especially when you have a "high-powered" offense.  I don't buy the crap about Carson, TJ and Chad not playing together in the preseason.  These guys have been together for several years.  They are professionals, and among the best at their respective positions.  If he does not get protection, Palmer will not be able to get them the ball. 

I really don't know what else to say, other than that game today flat out made me sick.  Here's a couple of facts from Geoff Hobson:

- The 154 yards amassed by the Bengals in the 17-10 loss were the lowest in the 82 games of the Marvin Lewis era. The next lowest was 161 in the 2005 season-finale loss in Kansas City. Next was 182 in a loss to Pittsburgh on Sept. 21, 2003.

- The eight first downs were also a Lewis low, the fewest since the 10 in that K.C. game, in which the Bengals lifted their starters early for the playoffs.

- The last time the Bengals offense didn't score a touchdown was in the 21-7 win here last season Nov. 11, won on Shayne Graham's seven field goals.

- The last time the Bengals didn't score a touchdown and lost was the K.C. game again, a 37-3 loss. Before that it was a 23-9 home loss to Baltimore in 2004.

In the practice of magical herbery, the collections of what might be considered “herbs” is far greater than in the study of medicinal herbology. Magic can encompass so many thing, the possibilities are virtually endless.

The following are generally considered “herbs” when dealing with most forms of herbal magic.

 

All leaf varieties of plants, both edible and non-edible.

All fruits and vegetables.

Spices and nuts.

Trees, shrubs and ground-level plants.

Weeds, both domestic (lawn weeds) and wild (meadow “weeds”)

 

An herb, in the practice of spell-casting and magic, can be the single item which pushes magic to its purpose, if the practitioner is in tune with the herb, leaf, plant or fruit he/she is using.

 

Each herb has a different molecular vibration. This is not magic, but science.

 

Molecules which make up a thing, vibrate to maintain the bond with surrounding molecules. When that vibration slows dramatically and ceases, the thing dies. However, the energy (soul, spirit, essence, chi) that inhabited that thing leaves its residue behind and the item maintains the signature of its former inhabitant, but not its frequency. The frequency is the rate at which the living active molecules general vibrate. The frequency of a plant with its roots firmly and healthfully imbedded in the earth has a higher frequency of vibration than that of the dried herbs in the cupboard. In each case though, we can sense or “read” the signature regardless of frequency, just as we know that the dried basil in the cupboard is the same basil cut from the garden a few months ago.

 

It is the signature of the herb which lends its power to magic work.

 

The history of magical herbery is as old as this planet. Earth has maintained living growth throughout its life, even in the Ice Age when the smallest organisms and cellular growth took place.

 

Before human beings evolved from the primordial soup, plant life maintained the health and healing of the beasts which roamed the planet. Animals instinctively seem to know which herb is necessary to make them feel better. They seek out that healing power by smell or recognition. Dogs will chew regular lawn grass. Annoying as that may be to the dog’s human, either in lawn care or cleanup after the animal, the dog only knows that the grass relates to his upset digestive tract and will relieve the pain or digestive block. Grass is a basic fiber (plant with heavier strings or strands of fiber running through it) and aids the dog’s digestive process.

 

Assuming that the first cognitive human beings watched animal behavior very closely, they would naturally try the same herbs and plants, leaves and shrubs that the animals used to heal their ills. From that practice evolved general use and experimentation with plants.

 

Jean Auel makes a wonderful and very believable hypothesis, set in fiction, in her series beginning with Clan Of The Cave Bear.  Her primitive characters have maintained a certain “ancestral memory” which enabled them to continue adding to their stores of knowledge. As humans became more human-like and less ape-like, the ancestral store of memories was lost.

 

The Earth in its pure evolution, was a balanced world of equal components. For every illness or condition there was a cure, through plant life or minerals. Pollution, erosion and overpopulation have knocked that delicate balance off kilter.

 

Almost instinctively, humans attune themselves to the vibrations of herbs and use them in an automatic way. As an example, basil is an herb which strengthens love, lust and feelings of romance and closeness. Have you ever wondered why romantic dinners often involve a pasta dish? Basil is most-often a key ingredient in Italian cooking.

 

In using herbs for magic, you must become aware of the aspects of the herb itself. Awareness is the ENTIRE key. It is vital that you take the time to look and really see, feel and really experience, smell and really recognize. With practice these are very possible.

 

An herb’s potential in your magical work is endless. It will interact with your key vibrations based on your intent and effort. It will expand with you as you fill with energy. Once you begin to recognize and experience the herb as a unique thing, your magic will naturally grow more powerful.

In any action, there is a reaction. This is a basic universal law. What you do with your magical work has a direct effect on the world, in some form or other. Good intent creates strong magic. An herb’s signature is neither positive or negative, but just IS. It is the intent which you place in your work that steers the energy to its intended goal.
